Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
