First-choice XI

The goalkeeper Had little to do required before the break but then tested by an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding challenge against Qazim Laci highlighted excellent anticipation. 6/10

John Stones Pushed up the pitch on the ball, something he's known for in the past. At times seemed hesitant in possession and the approach abandoned by the interval. 6

Dan Burn A nuisance on corners and free-kicks, per usual, perhaps is another option to his teammate in the backline as opposed to paired with him. A loose pass after the break came close to the first goal for the visitors. Six

Nico O’Reilly One more composed display from the rising star after his first cap against another side. Saka was unable to take the opportunity from an exquisite flick over the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7

The newcomer His first start for his country. Somewhat careless on the ball however his dangerous corners caused problems. A handy pace-controller for the boss to utilize versus defensive opponents. Cautioned after a reckless foul. Six

The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and free-kicks created chances. Had room to move down the left flank but was in an offside position upon receiving in shooting positions. Awarded a deserved break after an hour. Six

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced role down the right and put in dirty work. Displayed flashes of quality and dragged an attempt over. Substituted late on by Rogers, his rival, after being booked. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his shot excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate holding position, it fell to him to offer an outlet out wide but his crosses into the box were hit and miss. Substituted with 15 to go. 6/10

Harry Kane The decisive figure netting two more finishes in an England shirt. The first a typical close-range tap-in and his next a superb finish with his head after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and the side have every chance next summer when he's in the team. 8/10

The attacker Struggled to get into the game out wide. Had a decent opportunity following a pass from a teammate but the keeper denied him. His replacement produced a bigger effect when substituted. 5
