Two Victims Revealed in the Ivy League School Shooting as Authorities Press On With Search for Killer.

Two students who died in the weekend's mass shooting on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their killer carried on following the discharge by local law enforcement of the single suspect detained in connection in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, per the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which honored her memory at a ceremony on Sunday.

Cook was the vice-presidency of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, as the club stated. Karoline Leavitt also expressed words of sorrow publicly, remarking: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her family and friends, especially her parents.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, family members said.

The victim's identification was confirmed by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. His ambitions were lofty of becoming a neurosurgeon and helping people,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a memorial statement.

What Happened

Nine other people were wounded in the weekend shooting in the engineering department of Brown’s campus in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man arrested in a search at a hotel about approximately 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“We have a murderer out there,” declared Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you have to regroup and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last 24 hours or so.”

Community Anxiety

Providence’s mayor, Brett Smiley, acknowledged: “This will probably generate fresh anxiety for our community”.

The assailant began shooting inside a classroom in the engineering building on over the weekend, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm pistol, a police source reported to the Associated Press.

Police that raided the inn found two handguns and two loaded 30-round magazines when the suspect was detained, as was reported.

Those Hurt

Of the nine hurt, one student was released from the hospital, stated Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in critical but stable condition, and one was in critical condition, officials reported on Sunday.

A private school, a private academy in North Carolina, said a former student, Kendall Turner, was in the group of seriously hurt victims.

More Condolences

Cook was honored at a religious service in Birmingham on Sunday. A clergyman said, “She shone as a remarkable, stable, devout beacon not only during her upbringing... but at Brown University she was a shining example in that institution as well.”

Martin Bertao, Martin Bertao, posted a statement from the club. “She was famed for her fearless, heroic, and gentle spirit as she served her chapter and fellow classmates,” he said.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “deeply saddened” by the passing of Umurzokov in a statement. “Our profound condolences go out to the Umurzokov family, friends, and schoolmates and grieve for of his promising future.”

The weekend's murders at Brown, the seventh oldest in the US university with about 7,300 undergraduate and postgraduate students, happened during one of at least nearly 400 mass shootings reported in the US so far in this year, according to data. That Monday marked the 349th day of the year.
